Kasongo Barbecue Station

Material Galvanised steel
Process Laser + fold
Assembly No tools, < 3 min

A portable braai stand that ships flat, slots together without a single fastener, and packs down to carry like a briefcase. Designed, cut, folded and finished in-house.

Nine laser-cut components: two coal-pan stands, two coal pans, a coal base, two roaster pillars, a roaster clip and the grids. They interlock through cut slots instead of welded joints. That one decision moved the whole product onto the laser bed. No jigs, no weld distortion, nothing to dress afterwards, and a flat pack that costs almost nothing to move.

It is the clearest example of what we do for clients most weeks. Somebody arrives with an idea, we work out how it can actually be made on a laser and a brake, and then we make it the same way every time.

  • Slot-and-tab assembly, no fasteners in the frame
  • Cut lettering and perforation patterning in one operation
  • Folds on the press brake, packs flat for transport
  • Galvanised finish, built for open fire

Laser-cut steel panelling & signage

INSTALLED — cut lettering & perforationGermiston

Profile cutting, perforation patterning and lettering cut on the fibre laser, folded on the press brake, finished and installed on site.

Panelling like this is where the laser earns its keep. The lettering, the perforation field and the fixing holes are all one cutting programme, so everything lines up by definition. No marking out, no drilling, and no error creeping in between operations.

The folds get programmed around how the panel actually fixes to the wall, rather than the installer having to work around us. It is why our draughtsmen ask for the installation drawing and not just the part drawing.

  • Lettering, perforation and fixings in a single programme
  • Folded to suit the fixing detail on site
  • Finished and installed by our own team

The drawings below are of our own Kasongo components, produced for this website from the finished parts. They are not the shop's master CAD, so treat the dimensions as indicative. The DXFs are real though: download one and run it through the estimator.
