Precision, cut to the line.

We're a laser cutting and bending shop in Germiston. Send us a drawing and we'll draught it, nest it, cut it, fold it and check it, all in this building. Nothing goes out to a third party, so nothing comes back late.

What we do

Three machines, one floor,
and the people who run them.

The fibre laser cutting steel plate at IK Plus

Laser cutting

A 6 kW fibre laser on a full 4000 × 2000 mm bed. Mild steel to 30 mm, stainless to 16, aluminium to 12. Clean edges, very little burr, and the same part on run twenty as on run one.

Before anything is cut we nest your parts onto the sheet properly. That's not us being fussy. Sheet yield is the single biggest line on most quotes, and every square metre we save comes off your price rather than ours.

we'd rather spend twenty minutes
nesting than waste half a sheet

Bending

160 tonnes over four metres, CNC controlled, with a programmable back-gauge. Multi-stage bends and awkward geometry are normal here. Repeatability sits around ±0.1 mm.

We pick tooling to suit the material and the finish, and we program the bend order so the part can actually be handled in the machine. You'd be surprised how often that gets missed.

Fabrication, rolling and welding

Two CO₂ welding stations and a 10 tonne overhead crane, so weldments, assembly and finishing never leave the building. Rolling and forming too, when a part needs more than a fold.

All six services

From the directors
The IK Plus directors and team on the workshop floor in Germiston
the whole crew, most of a Tuesday

We started IK Plus because we were tired of watching good jobs get ruined by shops that quote fast and then go quiet.

Both of us were born in 1996. Everyone on this floor is under 35, and between us we've got more than ten years on CNC machines. People assume that means we're learning on your job. We're not. We're the ones running the laser, programming the brake and checking the parts before they go on the truck.

What we can promise is simple. You'll get an honest answer about whether we can make your part, and you'll get it quickly. If your drawing has a problem, we'll phone you about it before we cut, not after. And if we get something wrong, we'll fix it. That's it. That's the whole pitch.

Come and see the place if you like. Germiston, weekdays, the kettle works.

The plant

We bought for accuracy,
not for volume.

Every machine here has one trained operator who owns it. Nobody shares a laser, and nobody runs a brake they haven't been signed off on.

The full spec sheet is on the capabilities page, along with a bend calculator you're welcome to use whether or not you ever send us a job.

Instant estimate

Upload a DXF.
Get a number.

Most shops make you wait a day for a price. Drop your file into the estimator and it reads the geometry right there in your browser, measures the cut path, counts the pierces, then prices it against our actual machines.

Your file never leaves your computer. There's no upload and no server. We mention it because a few clients have asked, and it's a fair thing to ask.

It's an indicative figure, not a quotation. It doesn't know your grade, your finish or your tolerance class yet. But you'll know the order of magnitude in about ten seconds, which beats waiting until Tuesday.

The IK+ platform

Steel is only half
of what we engineer.

We built the software that runs this workshop. Digital clocking, live job tracking, alerts to the supervisors, all of it cloud backed and installed on the phones and terminals we already own.

It sounds like a strange thing for a fabricator to spend time on. The reason is boring and practical: when scheduling is tied to real machine data instead of somebody's memory, the delivery date you get from us is one we can actually hit.

“Where's my job?” used to mean phoning the floor and hoping someone had seen it. Now we just look.

You send something

A drawing, a DXF, a photo of a sketch, or the broken part itself. Email, WhatsApp, or the form on this site. If there's no CAD, we'll draw it.

Our draughtsmen look at it properly

They check it will actually manufacture, and flag anything that moves cost, tolerance or lead time. This is where most of the problems get caught, and it's why we'd rather phone you now than surprise you later.

You get a price

Material, cutting, bending, fabrication and delivery, itemised. Within one working day. If it's going to take longer because the job is big, we'll tell you that too.

We book it onto the machines

On approval the job goes onto the schedule and into the IK+ system, against real capacity rather than optimism.

We make it

Cutting, bending, welding and finishing, here. Operators check their own work at each stage, and the steel grade is confirmed before anything is cut.

Someone measures it

Dimensions checked against your drawing before it's packed. Not sampled. Checked.

It goes out

Labelled, reconciled against your spec, and delivered anywhere in South Africa. Or you fetch it from Germiston, which is usually quicker.

Straight answers

The things people
actually phone to ask.

If yours isn't here, ring the workshop on 011 383 2141. Someone who knows the machines will answer.

the floor, about half past seven

Will you do a one-off?

Yes. A single bracket is a job. There's no minimum order and we don't charge you extra for being small. Plenty of our repeat clients started with one part.

How long does a quote take?

One working day for most things. If it's a big fabrication with a lot of parts, we'll tell you upfront that it'll take a bit longer rather than let you sit and wonder.

What if my DXF is wrong?

We'll spot it and phone you. Open contours, double lines on top of each other, text that isn't converted to outlines, holes too close to a bend. It happens constantly and it's not a problem, as long as we catch it before the laser does.

I don't have CAD at all.

Send a sketch on paper, a photo with a tape measure in it, or the old part. Our draughtsmen will draw it up. It's a normal way to start a job.

Do you deliver?

Gauteng and nationwide. Parts arrive labelled and reconciled against your spec. Collection from Germiston is always an option and it's usually faster.

Can you handle our tender paperwork?

Yes. Company registration, B-BBEE affidavit, banking confirmation and the CSD report go out with every tender submission. Say the word and we'll attach the pack.

Can we come and look at the place?

Please do. Weekdays, 07:00 to 17:00. Phone first so someone's free to walk you round, and we'll show you the machines running rather than a slideshow.

And when we're not the right shop

We'd rather tell you now than take the job and disappoint you.

A few honest limits.

  • Anything bigger than 4000 × 2000 mm has to be split and joined, or go to a shop with a bigger bed.
  • Mild steel stops at 30 mm, stainless at 16, aluminium at 12. Past that you want plasma or waterjet.
  • We don't galvanise, powder coat or anodise in-house. We can arrange it, but it adds days.
  • Very large production runs may be better priced by a shop with a tower loader and two shifts. Ask us and we'll say so.
  • We're a fabrication shop, not a structural engineer. If your part carries a load, get it signed off.

If any of that rules us out, tell us what you're trying to make anyway. We've been in this industry long enough to know who does the thing we don't, and we'd rather point you at them than waste your week.
